Silly Suzy Goose dreams of being different from the other geese and imagines how it would be if she could do what some of the other animals do: swim like a seal, stretch like a giraffe, hang upside-down like a bat… and roar like a lion. Unfortunately, mimicking the last wakes up a real lion who was none too pleased and chased her back to her gaggle, where she was happy to blend in for once.
One of my daughter’s favourites when she was a one-year-old, Silly Suzy Goose reads well, rhymes well, has great illustrations, an actual story, and teaches a cool lesson at the end — that sometimes it’s OK to be the same as everybody else, but that it is also important to be yourself.
