Lighty Faust the Lion by Anna Hymas

Lighty Faust the Lion is the imaginary friend of a little boy named Ru. Lighty Faust follows Ru everywhere, even to school — even though no one can see him except Ru. Ru has loads of fun with Lighty Faust, even sharing apple pie with him on the moon!

Lighty Faust the Lion is a great book that very gently addresses the topic of imaginary friends without making children feel like there’s anything wrong with it/them; instead, it lightly encourages kids to say goodbye to their imaginary friends when they’re ready to — just as Ru does in the story. The delightful illustrations complement the whimsical feel of the book and conveys the childlike imagination of Ru perfectly.
