My Map Book by Sara Fanelli

In My Map Book, artist Sara Fanelli creatively expands the idea of a map beyond something that shows geographical locations to it being a way to organise information in an unexpected way.

The book uses examples that kids can easily relate to, from the more conventional maps of a child’s room and neighbourhood, to more abstract ones like a map of a child’s stomach (with a special spot for his/her favourite food) and that of a child’s heart showing the space allocated for loved ones. Kids can be inspired by the book to exercise their imagination and come up with their own versions and/or new ideas for maps.
