The little girl in this book knows what she wants and likes — almost everything in red — and why — because everything works better in red, or so she believes: e.g. “my red pajamas keep the monsters away when I’m sleeping” or “red paint puts singing in my head”.
Red is Best is a cute whimsical book about asserting your individuality, written from the point of view of a child. Kids will probably empathise with the girl: “My mom doesn’t understand about ____.” Also a good reminder to us parents that there’s usually a reason why our children insist on certain things to be a certain way — even if it doesn’t always make sense to us.
