“Hurray for the brave firemen!”
We are huge fans of the Tibor Gergely-illustrated Little Golden Books (e.g. The Little Red Caboose, Daddies, and The Happy Man and His Dump Truck) and The Fire Engine Book is no exception.
There’s just something about the way he brings every page to life — particularly in the action-packed rescue scenes in this book — and his fearless use of colour that lend the books a classic yet timeless feel.
While the details as to how firemen work are somewhat outdated, this book is a charming throwback to the past and will still be a hit with kids who are fascinated with vehicles and/or firemen!
