Let’s Be Enemies by Janice May Udry and Maurice Sendak

First published in 1961, Let’s Be Enemies is a charming book on the tenuous relationship that we term ‘friendship’. At the same time it also rather accurately sums up the dynamics between siblings β€” after all, they are our first friends.

The illustrations by Maurice Sendak are particularly sweet and perfectly capture the innocence and candor of children.
