Tuesday by David Wiesner

It’s Tuesday night and strange things can happen… like a bunch of bored pond frogs taking to the skies on magic flying carp- I mean, lilypads, and having the adventure of their lives!

David Wiesner deservedly won the Caldecott Medal in 1992 for the deliciously surreal illustrations in this wildly imaginative wordless book, which manages to be both mysterious and humorous.

The cheeky, open-ended conclusion is a nice touch too!
