As the title suggests, Goat Goes to Playgroup takes us through what happens when Goat goes to playgroup. Alas he doesn’t always do all the ‘right’ things and gets himself into little accidents — although he always seems to have fun. The illustrations and rhyming text don’t take themselves too seriously, so, all in all, this will be a good book for toddlers who are in, or who are about to join, a playgroup or preschool.
Nobunny’s Perfect uses cute illustrations of bunnies and rhyming text to show good vs. bad behaviour in school.
It also starts off by saying that every bunny is good — just that sometimes they do bad things, which is an important point of distinction to make: judge the actions, not the person/bunny.
We Love School! is a book that helps to reassure toddlers who are about to start school by projecting a very positive image of school life. The short rhyming sentences (“We like our garden. We like our pet. We like saying the alphabet”) and pleasant illustrations featuring kittens attending school make this book suitable even for very young toddlers.
